Accessibility

Karaya Group is a personal-capacity, independent advisory practice. This statement describes how accessible this website is, how that was checked, and where it still falls short. It reports what has been tested rather than claiming a conformance that has not been independently confirmed.
Target standard
The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and to be usable with a keyboard, with a screen reader, with reduced motion, and when zoomed or reflowed on a small screen. Accessibility is treated as ongoing work: issues are fixed as they are found or reported.
How the site is built
- Pages use semantic HTML with one main heading per page, landmarks for the header, navigation, main content, and footer, and a skip link to the main content.
- The three typefaces (Archivo, Hanken Grotesk, and JetBrains Mono) are served from this site. No third-party font or script service is contacted, and text stays readable with a system font if a typeface fails to load.
- The portrait of the principal is announced by name through the link that contains it. Purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Light and dark themes are available from the header and remembered between visits.
- The site honours the reduced-motion setting: scroll and reveal animations are turned off while all content stays visible.
- Navigation and the contact form work without JavaScript.
How it was checked
The most recent review, on 4 October 2026, combined automated testing with axe-core and Lighthouse on every page in both themes at desktop and mobile widths, keyboard-only walkthroughs of the navigation, the advisory tabs, and the contact form, and reflow checks at 320 pixels wide. Lighthouse scored the home, about, and contact pages 100 for accessibility.
Known limitations
The 4 October 2026 review found five gaps. Four are fixed: the light-theme focus outline and form field borders now meet the 3 to 1 contrast ratio, accent text on tinted panels meets 4.5 to 1, and the Escape key closes the open menu on small screens. One remains.
- Contact form errors use the browser's built-in messages rather than messages written into the page.
No third-party accessibility audit has been completed yet, so conformance to WCAG 2.2 AA has not been independently verified.
