How the work runs · Principal-led
You work with the principal directly.
There is no team attached to this practice, and none is sold behind the principal. Karaya takes on your decision, works it through, and the engagement ends with the brief.
Before you start
What makes a useful brief.
A useful brief names the decision you have to make. It states the constraint that is forcing your hand, whether that is power, capital, time, or something else. It says when the call has to be made, so the work is scoped to that.
The Critical Path
Five steps, from a short brief to a closed decision.
-
Start with the decision
Karaya begins with the decision you actually have to make, not a scope of work invented around it.
-
Confirm conflict and confidentiality checks
Before any detail changes hands, Karaya runs a conflict check and puts an NDA in place if the brief calls for one.
-
Define the brief, questions, work products, and stop condition
You and the principal agree the questions to answer, what you will receive, and the point that marks the brief as finished.
-
Work directly through constraints and options
The constraints that bind the decision are mapped, and the remaining options are compared against them.
-
Document the recommendation and close the brief
You get a written recommendation with the reasoning exposed, and the engagement ends there.
The output
What the client receives.
A documented recommendation
A written recommendation you can act on, with the reasoning shown rather than asserted.
A comparison of real options
The options that are actually open to you, compared against the constraints that bind the decision.
A risk register where relevant
When the decision carries material risk, a register that names each risk and how it bears on the call.
The boundaries
What Karaya does not sell.
-
No attached team
There is no team behind the principal, and none is sold on Karaya's behalf.
-
No staff augmentation
Karaya does not place bodies into your organization to sit on a chart.
-
No managed operations
Karaya does not take over running your facilities, capacity, or vendors.
-
No open-ended retainer
The work is scoped to the brief, so no standing monthly commitment is assumed.
Confidentiality and conflict
How Karaya handles confidentiality and conflict.
Karaya runs a conflict check before any detail is shared, so it is clear early if the brief should not be taken. An NDA is available before any confidential material is shared.
Karaya Group operates in a personal capacity. Nothing here speaks for any employer or other client. When Karaya draws on outside material, it is held to a clear source standard, and your information is kept separate from every other engagement.
Engagement shapes
How briefs are scoped.
Some briefs are a single decision with a fixed stop condition. Others run as a short sequence of decisions, each scoped and closed in turn. The shape follows the decision, not a template.
Cost is agreed in writing before any work begins. It depends on the brief, the questions in scope, and the work products you need. There is no fixed price list, because no two decisions carry the same weight.
Questions
Straight answers.
- Who actually does the work?
- Karaya Group is principal-led. The principal is the only person on the engagement. There is no team behind the practice, and none is subcontracted.
- What does an engagement cost?
- Cost is agreed in writing before any work starts. It depends on the brief, the questions in scope, and the work products you need, so there is no fixed price list.
- Will you sign an NDA?
- Yes. An NDA is available before any confidential detail is shared, and Karaya runs a conflict check before going further.
- What happens when the brief is done?
- The engagement closes with the documented recommendation. There is no retainer, and no ongoing work is assumed unless you scope a new brief.
